It’s no secret that the expected AirPods Pro2 Bluetooth earphones look much like the current version, but according to the new leak, the same may not be true for the charging case.
Not only do you get relatively subtle design updates, but you also get some impressive new audio features.
according to 52 AudioThe AirPods Pro 2 offers all the features of the current model, but as expected, more, including heart rate, which seems to outline many details from Apple’s own internal leaked documentation. Add a health-related chop and temperature sensor. The report does not provide fresh details on how these features work, but mentions the H1 chip that has been updated to support these and myriad other features. ..
More interesting rumors revolve around the audio enhancement of the case. Yes, according to 52Audio, the AirPods Pro case has several microphones on both sides of the Lightning (or USB-C) port. The microphone may be designed to collect ambient sound and deliver it directly to your AirPods Pro 2 earphones to enhance your hearing aid experience.
There’s something else interesting, but there’s a potential change in the case that can break your ears, like a hole in a new speaker that works with Apple’s Find My to make sound when you’re trying to find a case. AirPods can already do this.
There’s also a new cutout on the side of the case that looks like it’s designed to support the deployment of AirPods Pro case straps.
Most of these design changes are consistent with previous leaks, but the latest rumors provide a little more context on how AirPods pro 2 uses these features.
Listen, maybe
Obviously, these are all just rumors. Apple hasn’t confirmed the existence of AirPods Pro2 yet, but it’s likely that Apple will introduce an upgrade for this very popular audio product.
It makes perfect sense to add hearing aid functionality to the case, not just the AirPods Pro itself. For Apple, wearables are a natural health device. Most of the major Apple Watch updates revolve around monitoring and motivating health and fitness.
If your AirPods Pro 2 doesn’t include heart rate tracking, you’ll be shocked. The current model is already protected from sweat and is intended to be a walking and training companion.
Are you angry that you don’t get a fresh look? Especially if the next generation can make such a potentially significant difference in the way we hear the world around us.
