Metroid Prime’s original live-action commercial, which first debuted 20 years ago, has been upgraded to 4K resolution.
You may not get any more insights about Metroid Prime 4, but it’s an interesting part of the history of the game. The trailer is a strange combination of live-action and in-game footage, moving back and forth between an actor in Samus’s classic power suit and the first-person perspective of a video game. Track actors navigating the Talon IV corridor and duplicate many of the game’s features and mechanics.
Samus fires an arm cannon at a CGI creature, transforming it into a morph ball and, of course, showing it through several doors. The trailer ends when Samus encounters the game’s first major boss, the Parasite Queen.
This clip was originally broadcast on cinemas and television channels before the release of Metroid Prime in 2002. Eventually it appeared on the internet, but the quality of the uploads was generally low and the resolution was also low.
However, Metroid fans Nintendo Subreddit Recently excavated 4K version of trailer YouTuber Denis-Uploaded by Carl Robidoux. The ultra-high resolution video is reportedly created by scanning the original 35mm film of the trailer provided by the contributor to Rovidou.
