Marvel’s Spider-Man 2: Release Date and Platforms
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is set to skip PS4 entirely and release exclusively for PS5 in 2023. At the moment, there’s no specific release date other than a 2023 release his window, but expect developer his Insomniac Games to narrow down the date sometime this year.
Spider-Man 2 is on track for a 2023 release window, according to Insomniac.of response (opens in new tab) Insomniac Games’ official account told fans concerned about the delay on Twitter: “On track and scheduled for 2023.”
Although it hasn’t been confirmed, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 could be coming to PC at a later date. and Miles Morales appeared in November. We don’t expect Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 to be available on Steam at launch, but it seems likely he’ll be released on PC later.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2: Trailer
Release trailer
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was unveiled with a trailer at the PlayStation Showcase in September 2021. The trailer is only about a minute and a half long, but it provides a fair amount of detail. For one thing, we’ve seen both Peter Parker and Miles Morales take on Fighting Goons, suggesting we’ll be able to play as both Spider-Man’s this time around.
Finally, we get a surprise appearance from the infamous Spider-Man villain Venom (an out-of-this-world symbiote with a passion for violence), so hopefully he’ll be one of the main villains in the sequel. Unfortunately, we didn’t have any gameplay to analyze, but we briefly saw a shot of Peter getting a power surge with Iron Spider’s arm, suggesting suit power may be returning. .
Also, ominous voices are heard in the trailer, suggesting that Peter and Miles will be confronted by yet another villain. ยท We put our money on being a hunter.Kraven the Hunter – A classic Spider-Man villain with a similar attitude to prey he’s looking for in the comics. Check out the trailer below.

Cooperate with cards?
Rumor has it that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 may include some co-op elements.
Following the release of Marvel’s Spider-Man for PC, dataminers discovered what appeared to be a discarded multiplayer mode in the game files.discoverer twitter (opens in new tab) User DniweTamp (via reddit (opens in new tab)) file appears to show not only co-op and multiplayer notifications, but also PvP modes like Miles Morales and Peter Parker going head-to-head in competition.
As exciting as it was to be scrapped, Insomniac never really announced plans for a multiplayer mode from the beginning. Now, fans are understandably wondering if we’ll ever see the feature make an appearance in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 in some form.
of PlayStation Blog Post (opens in new tab) Announcing the game, it was fairly clearly stated that the sequel would be a single-player experience, but the reveal trailer relied heavily on Peter fighting alongside Miles. While it’s unlikely Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will actually release as a single-player experience, with co-op elements added at a later date, we’re not sure about Insomniac’s plans until it’s officially confirmed.
Miles Morales Novelist Joins Insomniac Games
Brittney M. Morris, author of Miles Morales’ prequel Wings of Fury, has joined Insomniac Games as a writer. Morris announced the news on Twitter, revealing that her first project she’ll be working on is Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
The addition of Morris to the team is certainly welcome news. Her novel was well received, and her knowledge of the Miles Morales character will no doubt help her write a sequel.

It will be a dark sequel like The Empire Strikes Back
It looks like we’re actually getting the darker Spider-Man game that everyone wanted. during the performance This week on the Marvel Podcast (opens in new tab)Marvel creative vice president Bill Roseman said, “If the first Spider-Man game was Star Wars, [A New Hope]Spider-Man 2 is kind of our empire [Strikes Back]. It gets a little darker. “
This means that Insomniac’s Spider-Man will remain its own version rather than an imitation of the family-friendly version we’ve grown accustomed to in the MCU, so here at TRG we’re certainly happy.
Horror movie star to play Venom
take it official playstation blog (opens in new tab) After the PlayStation Showcase 2021, Insomniac Games revealed that horror movie star Tony Todd (who played Candyman in the original film series of the same name) will be voicing Venom.
Todd is the perfect choice for Venom, sure to deliver an ominous, throaty voice that seems to hide behind the couch whenever Venom is on screen. We’re especially pleased to hear his involvement, as it confirms our hopes that will take on a more horror-themed tone.
Speaking of voice acting, Yuri Lowenthal and Naji Jeter will reprise their roles as Peter and Miles, respectively.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2: What We Want to See
Marvel’s Spider-Man
The trailer seems to suggest that we’ll be playing as both Miles and Peter, and the ending of Miles’ solo game would back that up, but we’re not sure yet. With even more story and gameplay options in Man 2 (and double the web-slinging action), we hope you can play as both Spider-Men.
Spider-Duo is seen performing a combo move in a PlayStation Showcase 2021 teaser. This suggests that you might be able to play as both at the same time at different points in the game, but given that it was all just a movie, there’s no way to do so. I know for sure.
scary side of spiderman
With Venom and (potentially) Kraven the Hunter appearing in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Insomniac seems to be tweaking the narrative towards more terrifying villains in Spider-Man’s rogue’s gallery.
I hope Insomniac digs deeper into this and includes terrifying characters like the Lizard, Morbius (or other Marvel vampires like Morlun), and even the Jackal. I wouldn’t be surprised if Green Goblin or Hob Goblin shows up.
Kurt Connors, the lizard-turning-human scientist, has already appeared in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, suggesting that his villainous side could very well show up in the sequel. The same goes for Norman Osborn, who was a key character in Marvel’s first Spider-Man game, so it may not be long before he becomes the Green Goblin.
Based on Marvel’s Spider-Man’s DLC ending, it looks like Venom could be Harry Osborn (son of Norma) in this series. – Maybe that’s what drives Norman Osborn to become a villain.
I admit it doesn’t make a lot of sense, as Jackal and Morlan are tied into much longer stories like the Spider-Man clone saga and Spider-Verse that deserve their own dedicated games, but we’ll have to wait and see. .
World beyond New York
Spider-Man is known as the New York City hero, but we’d love to see the wall-crawler travel to new locations in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. The teaser seems to suggest that we’ll definitely be in a city like New York at some point, but thanks to his SSD storage and power on the PS5, Insomniac can load up and explore other big locations. You can also.
One option, especially if they choose the horror route, is to include characters who can take us into terrifying realms like Doctor Strange. We were even able to visit Simkaria, home of Silver Sable, and the location Peter was visiting in Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
New York would definitely work well as a setting for a Spider-Man game, as its looming skyscrapers are perfect for web swings, but considering it’s already been featured in both of Insomniac’s previous titles, the eventual I’m afraid I’ll get bored.
