In this case, if you buy the Nintendo Switch bundle with the full $60 game and really want to play it, it’s worth getting the cheaper titles individually. For this reason, it’s always worth comparing the actual price of the bundled game you’re about to buy with the overall price to make sure you’re getting a good deal. We’ve seen 2K’s NBA series, Sniper Clips, FIFA 19, and Mario Kart used this way for his local multiplayer in both docked and tablet modes. So you get multiplayer functionality right out of the box with no additional purchases required.
However, if you want to play 4-player games, you’ll need to invest in extra Joy-Con controllers or Pro controllers. Buy Joy-Cons in pairs (see comparison chart above). You’ll save a little money over buying them individually, and even better, if your friend has her Switch, ask her to bring the controller to the party!
